Hire the Barman was founded in 2000 from a single mobile bar on the Liverpool waterfront. Twenty-five years and 1,600+ events later, we still operate from the same waterfront depot at Edward Pavillion, and we're still run by the founders who poured the first drinks. We help three groups of people: couples planning a wedding that matters; marketing and brand teams running launches, conferences and hospitality; and private hosts throwing milestone parties that need to feel effortless. What we don't do is volume catering, festival staff agency work, or any job where service quality would have to drop to hit a price point. We specialise in cocktail-led bar service for events of 12 to 800 guests, across Liverpool, Manchester, London, the Wirral, Cheshire and the wider North West. Our bartenders are experienced mixologists with five-plus years' experience, never trainees. Our equipment is owned, maintained and refrigerated in-house, never hired-in. And our quotes are flat-rate and itemised, never padded with per-cocktail charges. The reason we're still here after a quarter of a century is simple: we never no-showed an event, never sent an under-trained bartender, and never inflated a quote after the fact. Most of our work comes from venue recommendations and repeat hosts, the kind of business that only survives on a clean reputation. Standards & philosophy ## What every Hire the Barman event is held to. ### Experienced bartenders only Every bartender we send has 5+ years' professional bar experience. We never deploy trainees on a paid event. ### Owned, maintained kit Bars, refrigeration, ice machines and glassware are owned, PAT-tested and serviced in-house, never hired in. ### Flat-rate, itemised quotes One number, fully transparent. No per-cocktail charges, no surprise extras, no payment after the event. ### Fully insured & licensed £5m public liability, employer's liability, Personal Licence holders, Challenge 25 trained. Certificates sent to venues without chasing. ### Pre-loaded the night before Saturday weekend stock is loaded on Friday. Setup never depends on Saturday-morning logistics. ### Single point of contact The person who quotes your event is the person on-site running it, never a dispatch hand-off. ### Our guarantee If we don't arrive on time, in uniform, with the kit and stock specified in your quote, your bar hire is free. We've never had to honour this guarantee in 25 years. We don't intend to start now.
